The day I spent at Manzanar was hot - above 100 F. As I walked, my thoughts always came back to how wrong our decision was to intern loyal Americans. But my thoughts also were constantly punctuated with how resilient the internees were in their forced circumstances. The ability to see and create beauty in this place is an example I can learn from.
